Alex Breitling 'Skyfall' on Purified Records
As the Tulum sun eases into its slow, golden season, Purified Records' Nora En Pure has been careful about what she chooses to play. Her latest 'Vigilant' chart, dated 2 November, includes nine of her own picks for the season, and in it, 'Skyfall' by Alex Breitling sits at number nine of twenty-one. Of those twenty-one records, four came from Purified Records itself. Alex Breitling's record is not just another release on the label, it is the thirty-third Purified Records release of 2024. The label has already put out forty records this year, and it is easy to see why this one has become part of the label head's seasonal rotation.
'Skyfall' lands in its Extended Mix on 20 September 2024. It is a record led by harmony rather than percussion. The drums are present, but they leave a lot of room, letting the melodic elements sit loud and tight against its peaks. The top end stays bright, and the result is a track that feels open, light, and made for wide open spaces.

The Skyfall artwork showcases an image of a hammerhead shark, captured by Daniel Nicholson. Hammerhead sharks are known for their distinctive, hammer-shaped heads, which give them an advantage in maneuverability and detecting prey through specialized sensory organs. These adaptations make them highly effective hunters of stingrays, fish, and other sharks. Unfortunately, many hammerhead species are endangered due to overfishing for their fins, habitat destruction, and bycatch, making conservation efforts crucial to their survival.
