Alican 'Stronger' on ISOLATE

John Digweed placed 'Stronger' sixth of 11 in his 2023 Summer Chart on 27 July, and by 6 August was on the bill at Chinois Ibiza for Franky Wah's SHÈN Ibiza, a night that also carried Francesca Lombardo and Paige. Alican's release on ISOLATE, filed as Melodic House and Techno, has been out since 26 May, timed for high season across Ibiza and Mykonos.
ISOLATE said of the track: "The title track, 'Stronger,' starts with an engaging groove layered with guitar samples that form the rhythm, with a few surprises hidden up its sleeve, to create a memorable dancefloor experience."
The audio backs that up. Neither the drums nor the harmony fully take the lead: the percussion stays crowded and busy, the level and headroom both sit in the middle, and the top end lands somewhere between bright and dark rather than committing to either. It is a track built on balance rather than a single hook, patient enough to reward the guitar samples ISOLATE singles out.
Digweed's chart also carried Tokyo Fan Club's 'Circles' in the Marc Romboy Remix on Bedrock Records at fourth, good company for a record on one of the summer's more closely watched lists. A place at sixth of 11 is a strong showing for a record built to hold a floor rather than announce itself on one.

ISOLATE, Bandcamp about text · sourceIsolate is proud to announce the release number 30, presented by no other than Alican after a two-year hiatus. The „Stronger" EP brings us a collection of four tracks with varying moods designed to be played at different time slots in a club or festival environment.
The title track, "Stronger," starts with an engaging groove layered with guitar samples that form the rhythm with a few surprises hidden up its sleeve to create a memorable dancefloor experience.
"Ease" is the oldest creation on the release, rediscovered by Alican on his USB after he had forgotten its existence. Many have asked and now it's the time to reveal… This track was handpicked by Jimi Jules for his Essential Mix last year and it still continues to sound fresh today.
The third track, "Moving on" is a collaboration with Alican's childhood friend, Soner. They have been making music together for over 20 years and this song started as a basic sketch from Soner on the vocals. Alican's touch added an incredible cutting and editing, creating a final version that shows the duo's remarkable talent.
Lastly, "Phases" is specifically designed for the dancefloor with high energy and straightforward rhythms that will have the crowd moving all night long.
Get ready to move your feet and enjoy the journey!
