Arodes 'Alma' on Interstellar Recordings (Insomniac)

Arodes turns in a percussive, hypnotic piece with 'Alma,' out now on Interstellar Recordings, the label arm of Insomniac. The release marked the 13th from the label in 2024 and landed on 11 October.

The audio here is split evenly between its percussion and its harmony. It's a rolling, percussive groove, with few hits to the beat and plenty of air in its top end; the percussion shimmers above a middling record that has some give beneath its peaks. The vocals on 'Alma' move in short phrases, and the track doesn't push for anything like a big-room drop, a quality that lets it ride as a steady, physical tool.

'Aalma' has been picked up by Pete Tong, who placed it ninth in his 'Release Me' chart on 14 October.
