Booka Shade 'Reading Rainbows' on Blaufield Music

This week's Melodic House & Techno chart has 13 new records, all with tempos between 120 and 130 BPM. Among them is 'Reading Rainbows' by Booka Shade, released 24 October on Blaufield Music, which sits at 120 BPM and is the slowest of the bunch. The track is in G major, Camelot 9B, and comes from a catalogue that began in August 2005 and now has 96 releases. The German duo's records have most often come out on Get Physical Music, with 44 of them, and more recently on Armada Music Albums, Toolroom and Bedrock Records. Before this, their most recent was 'Body Language (Helsloot Remix)' on Get Physical Music on 10 October.

In the mix, the drums and the chords weigh the same. A busy percussive surface runs beneath the whole track, and while the levels go up, the peaks barely clear the surface. The top end is left with plenty of air. Charted by Yulia Niko, who placed it fifth of 11 in her Melodig [ADE] Week 2 chart on 23 October.
