Budakid 'Freedom' on Siamese
Siamese framed the release as Budakid's label debut: "Budakid makes his debut on Siamese with the heartfelt Freedom EP, showcasing his own vocals alongside a remix by Patrice Bäumel." The Patrice Bäumel Remix of 'Freedom' is filed as Melodic House & Techno.
Rodriguez Jr. Placed the remix second of 12 in his Heaven Scent Chart on 18 February, a strong placing on a busy chart. Budakid brings a long history to the label: 82 releases since 23 June 2014, most of them on Einmusika Recordings, Armada Music Albums and Lost & Found, nine apiece, and on DAYS like NIGHTS, six, with the most recent before this being 'DAYS like NIGHTS 2024', on DAYS like NIGHTS, 20 December 2024.
The remix itself lets its percussive layer carry the track, with an airy hit pattern, sitting modest in level with the peaks a long way clear and a moderate brightness at the top, a light touch that suits vocals built around the idea of freedom.
