Einmusik, Jordan Arts 'The One's' on Purified Records

Purified Records is proudly the label responsible for presenting some of melodic house's most thoughtful records, and Nora En Pure runs her label with an attention to sound that has kept it at the forefront of the genre. This fall, the label is as consistent as ever, delivering compositions that value emotional storytelling and sonic purity over cheap tricks. Now at the head of her recent actions sits 'The One's', the latest single from Berlin DJ and producer Einmusik with vocalist Jordan Arts. It is the second time the two have come together for Nora En Pure, their first record 'Cover Me' arriving in May, and it furthers a fruitful partnership that has produced some of the year's most tender melodic house.

'The One's' is built on a patient, meditative pulse. Though it holds a subtle groove underneath, the track is led more by harmony than by percussion, leaving ample room for the record to breathe. Einmusik's pads unfold in soft, contemplative waves as Jordan Arts' voice floats through the arrangement; it is mixed with a great deal of headroom, letting the air move around the notes. There is a dark, reflective quality at the top of the mix that gives the record a late-night feeling. It is a record that sounds great at high volume in a club, but also rewards a close listen on headphones.
