One of the most striking things about the current Afro House wave is the amount of incident producers manage to pack into a single record. This Moojo Remix of Emanuele Esposito, Gianni Romano, and Helen Tesfazghi's 'It's Not Right' is a case in point: it runs at 123 BPM, making it the fastest of the six Afro House records in this week's chart, but it never feels hurried. Instead, the percussion does a lot of the talking, with a high level that sits flat under the peaks, and a top end that is neither bright nor dark, just present.

The record was released on 2 February 2024 via Ulu Records and has already found its way into Atmos Blaq's DJ chart, where it landed at number four on 8 February. That is a useful sign of its reach: Atmos Blaq is a selector with a keen ear for the deeper end of the Afro House spectrum, and his endorsement here points to a record that works in the early hours as much as it does in the peak. The key is C minor, which gives the harmony a certain gravity, and the vocals from Helen Tesfazghi float over the top with a cool, unhurried confidence. This one is worth tracking down before the season reaches its peak.
