The note Early Morning put out with 'Surreal' says, "The tenth edition of the Early Morning label stands as both a milestone and a statement of intent." The track, filed as Progressive House, arrived on the label on 26 September, and Guy J placed it first of 11 in his own Music for October chart on 2 October, in a field where three of the 11 records already carry the Early Morning name.

"The second track, Surreal, pushes further into abstraction," the label said of it. The audio backs that up: drums lead over harmony, with plenty happening across them, running neither loud nor quiet and moderately clear of the peaks, with a top end that carries plenty of air. First of 11 in a chart Guy J compiled himself, ahead of two more Early Morning records in the same field, says the label is not short of material this season.

The tenth edition of the Early Morning label stands as both a milestone and a statement of intent. In just a single year, its founder has reshaped the underground dance music landscape with a catalog that redefined the possibilities of the genre. This latest release features two new pieces that together form a tightly woven conceptual work spanning nearly seventeen minutes.

Guy J has built his reputation on reinvention. Each release feels less like a continuation of his past and more like a step into uncharted terrain. On the opening track, Worlds Apart, he fuses an emotive core with intricate sound design and spatial experimentation, leading listeners into liminal states where consciousness and subconsciousness blur. Despite its cerebral qualities, the piece never loses its pulse, the steady momentum that keeps it firmly anchored to the dancefloor.

True to the labels name, this is music designed for dawn, for moments of release after a long night, for embraces on crowded floors, for the intangible bonds that form through shared experience. The second track, Surreal, pushes further into abstraction. While echoes of early trance, a genre that shaped Guy J during his formative years, are evident, the piece reframes those influences through a progressive, hypnotic, and technologically refined lens. It is this ability to blend memory with innovation that distinguishes Guy J from his peers, offering listeners not just music but a reimagined space in which sound itself becomes an act of discovery.
