Hamza Rahimtula, Rajasthan Folkstars 'Earth' on Sol Selectas

Sol Selectas has a new record out that is doing good things: 'Earth' by Hamza Rahimtula, Rajasthan Folkstars in its Extended Mix was released on 25 Apr. That is the first release on the label by these artists since 17 March 2023, when Global Entry 4 came out. That is a gap of over two years.

It has made a strong impression on at least one discerning DJ, charting at number one on Sabo's Origins in Bali Chart on 27 Apr. That chart included 20 records, and seven of them were on Sol Selectas. Its premiere position suggests that the label's sound is in a good place right now.

Sonically, this one is not a beat-driven record. It is led by harmony, with few hits to the beat. The percussion stays held back in level, with moderate movement underneath the peaks. The top end is temperate, which only adds to the smoothness of the overall sound.
