John Martin, ARTBAT 'Coming Home (feat. John Martin)' on UPPERGROUND

'Coming Home (feat. John Martin)' is UPPERGROUND's 10th release of 2023 on Beatport, the label's latest of 10 so far this year. The Original Club Mix from John Martin and ARTBAT is filed as Melodic House and Techno and released 25 August, arriving deep in peak season across Ibiza and Mykonos.

Its weight sits in the drums: an airy hit pattern carries the track forward while the level stays soft with headroom to spare, and the top end runs dark rather than bright. It is a spacious, unhurried piece of production, more interested in atmosphere than in filling every inch of the mix, and it is better for the restraint.

ARTBAT placed the track first of 10 on their own Coming Home chart on 25 August, a list where seven of the ten records are on UPPERGROUND, with 'Breathe In' by ARTBAT, Another Life and CAY (DE) at second. UPPERGROUND last covered ARTBAT's 'Artefact' on 5 August, and this is a label that keeps finding room at the top of its own list.
