Kevin McKay, Samuel Muir 'Crazy' on Glasgow Underground

Kevin McKay and Samuel Muir's 'Crazy' sits at ninth in Swanky Tunes' Maneye Chart, out 30 May. The record is on Glasgow Underground, which makes its second appearance here after Gorje Hewek and ETNE's 'Children' was covered by this chart on 5 April.
Glasgow Underground says "In terms of dance music, the most well-known is Trevor Jackson, whose groundbreaking covers for Soulwax sit shoulder to shoulder with his recordings as Playgroup. London's Samuel Muir joins the select group with this stunning collaboration with Kevin McKay. He has designed for A-list musicians (Khruangbin, Gorgon City, Deadmau5, Calvin Harris, Jessie Ware) and cool-as-you-like brands (Byron, Red Bull, Koya, Ace+Freak). For this release, he's taken inspiration from unashamedly big room club bangers to bring afro-tech flavours to this Seal-sampling slammer."
The audio lives up to those claims. A thick run of percussion gives this Afro tech cut its drive and the harmony sits out in front of the drums, loud and forward with little movement under the peaks but plenty of light up top. There is much to love here.

Glasgow Underground, Bandcamp about text · sourceArt is so closely linked to music that it's surprising so few artists are musicians and vice versa. Already tested by Kevin McKay to massive response at London's Roast party, this heady hypnotic journey is the perfect accompaniment to afro cuts by Band&dos, Malone and Nico De Andrea. Dive in!
