M.E.M.O. 'Afroiberico' on Mobilee Records
Mobilee Records calls M.E.M.O. A long-standing member of its roster, and 'Afroiberico', in the Extended Version, arrives as the latest evidence of that relationship. The track, filed as Afro House, came out on the label in September, and Rodriguez Jr. Placed it seventh of 10 in his Spaces In Between Chart on 28 October, a field where three of the 10 records already carry the Mobilee Records name. The label's other releases include Oppaacha's 'My Soul'.
Drums lead over harmony throughout, with the drum figure running busy rather than restrained. The level sits forward, with almost no room left under the peaks, and the top end runs half bright, a dense, close mix that leaves little space to breathe. Seventh of 10 in a chart the label already claims three times over says this is a roster that knows its own sound and keeps delivering it.

Born in Málaga, M.E.M.O. is a versatile DJ/producer and live-act who has been recognized in the Spanish electronic scene and has previously worked with labels such as Armada, Bedrock and Get Physical.
The title piece “Afroiberico” is a single-minded statement: an instrumental that channels M.E.M.O.’s intense passion for Afro-house. Built from driving, cyclical percussion and warm, organic textures, the track pushes dancers forward with an insistently grooving heartbeat, simple in concept, relentless in momentum.
On the flip, “Ombaya” brings a human, vocal element through a special collaboration with featured artist Muser. The vocal story is organic: M.E.M.O. met Muser after a set at Baba Club on the beach in Cádiz (El Palmar); impressed by his energy and enthusiasm, M.E.M.O. invited him into the studio and they recorded vocals that perfectly completed an existing idea. The result is a warm, soulful cut where Muser’s voice sits naturally atop textured percussion and flowing melodic motifs, a first-time pairing that already feels like a friendship captured on record.
Across both tracks, M.E.M.O. balances the raw and the refined: earthy field-recorded sounds, hand-played percussion and textured grooves meet careful production choices that keep the music dancefloor-ready without losing its organic soul. This EP is designed to work in open-air sunset sets as much as in tighter club rooms, a concise statement of what contemporary Afro-house can be when crafted with taste and momentum.
