Marc Romboy 'Aurora' on Awesome Soundwave
'Aurora' is Awesome Soundwave's ninth release of 2023 on Beatport, matching the label's full count for the year to date. The Ivory Sunrise Mix, filed as Melodic House and Techno, arrived on the label in June, and Massano placed it fourth of 10 in his own Theory EP Chart on 28 June.
It marks Marc Romboy's first release on Awesome Soundwave since 'Music Made for Aliens', a gap of about three months. Harmony sits out in front of the drums, with the percussion running crowded beneath it. The mix sits loud, with little give under its peaks, and the top end runs dark, a dense, weighted read built for a peak-time slot. Fourth of 10 in a chart curated by another artist is a strong result for a label's own release closing out its ninth of the year.
