Moody Jones 'Whoop' on Deep Root Tribe

Francis Mercier placed 'Whoop' 12th of 15 on his All My Life chart on 16 December, then played Zamna Tulum on 3 January for Francis Mercier presents Solèy Tulum, a bill that also carried Afrojack, AVÖ (PT) and Nadrums. Moody Jones's Extended Mix on Deep Root Tribe, filed as Afro House, has been out since 5 December, timed for the Tulum season at its fullest.

Four of the 15 records on Mercier's chart carry the Deep Root Tribe name, a sign of how closely this label's own sound and his own programming now line up. 'Whoop' holds its own in that company, a record that earns its chart placing rather than simply riding the label's momentum.

Deep Root Tribe last covered MASSALA's 'Funanya' on 21 August, and 'Whoop' keeps the label's momentum going into the new year on one of the season's bigger stages.
