Mrak 'Equilibrium' on Afterlife Records

'Equilibrium' is Afterlife Records' seventh release of 2023 on Beatport, matching the label's full count for the year to date. The Extended Mix, filed as Melodic House and Techno, arrived on the label in June, and Fideles placed it seventh of 10 in his Summer Madness chart on 30 June.

It marks Mrak's first release on Afterlife Records since 'One EP', a gap of about 20 months. The track leans on tone over rhythm, with a dense hit pattern running through it. Levels stay kept down, squeezed beneath the peaks, and the top end sits moderately bright, a controlled, close mix built for consistency. Seventh of 10, on a return delayed by about 20 months, is a fair result for a track that took its time coming back.
