Paige 'Pretend' on SHÈN Recordings

Paige's 'Pretend' arrives on SHÈN Recordings in the extended mix, filed as melodic house and techno and released on 4 August, the label's 19th release of 2023 on Beatport, of 21 put out this year up to 20 August. Yulia Niko placed it sixth of 12 on her chart, posted 15 August, as Lisbon and Berlin move through August.

'Pretend' splits its weight evenly between drum and chord, the percussion carrying plenty of incident of its own. It runs loud, with little give under its peaks, and sits bright at the top, giving the track a forward, sunlit energy.

Paige brings a catalogue of 67 releases since 4 August 2014 to the label, weighted toward Toolroom, Armada Music Albums, Armada Music and Nomade Records (DE), and arrives here fresh from 'Amethyst' on Purified Records on 7 July. 'Pretend' marks Paige's first release on SHÈN Recordings since 'Road To Ibiza' on 16 June, a gap of about two months.
