Pay Kusten, Ex-Mono, Mono & Kusten 'Viow' on 3000 Grad Records

The note 3000 Grad Records put out with 'Viow' says, "The mid-tempo groove of Mono & Kusten glides along like clear spring water over the smooth, round pebbles of a mountain stream. This coherent flow keeps up also during the breaks, when the lively beats fade away, and the listening mind keeps drifting on a stream of melodic warmth and harmony." The Nhii Remix, filed as Organic House, arrived on the label in June, and Nhii placed it sixth of 12 in his own June Vibes chart on 19 June.

'Viow' is Pay Kusten, Ex-Mono, Mono and Kusten's first release on 3000 Grad Records, following 'Nebula' on Meeronauten Musik, in May. The remix leans on harmony over percussion, with the drums running crowded rather than sparse. Levels stay held back, with room left under the peaks, and the top end sits half bright, a warm, unhurried mix that matches the label's own description of it. Sixth of 12, on a debut for the label, is a fair first outing.
