Sarkis Mikael 'Stay feat. St. Terrible, Wend' on Dreaming Awake
This was a late pick for Just Emma's You Don't Know Me chart, and it is easy to hear why it stood out. The original version of 'Stay' brings together St. Terrible and Wend, and it was Sarkis Mikael's first release on Dreaming Awake after his 'Farfasha' on Sol Selectas in April. This is the CIOZ Remix, and it is a masterclass in restraint.
The drums run throughout, the hits to the beat are few but perfectly placed, and the track stays loud by holding its peaks tight rather than pushing them over. There is a shaded quality to the top end that keeps the whole thing feeling deep and unhurried, even as the percussion keeps the energy moving forward. Just Emma placed it fifth in her chart of ten, between Deep Andi and KataHaifisch's 'Crispy Base', which she chose in the Just Emma 6AM Remix. That is a good sign of where this sits: heady, grooved, and built for the kind of set that rewards patience. Miami is in its dry season right now, and records like this fit the early hours of a night that never quite cools down.

The four artists first crossed paths at the boutique festival Lost River Disco, where their immediate synergy led to the creation of this remarkable project.
The original is a track that label boss Treavor Moontribe immediately recognized as something extremely special! The vocals, the melodies, the chords…its just got a super sweet vibe to it. There are qualities reminiscent of Radiohead in there, but in a style of Melodic House music one rarely if ever finds in todays music. In a sea of music that seems to be copying each other over and over, Stay is a breath of fresh air and the crowds reaction every time its played says it all…cheers, smiles and many asking What Is This Song?!!!
We knew we needed just the right remixers for such a powerful track, and taking our time certainly paid off! First up is the globally respected and sought after producer CIOZ (Monaberry, Stil Vor Talent) who absolutely blew our minds with his completely unique and highly technical remix. His use of the original sounds in new psychedelic ways is something weve all come to love CIOZ for, but what he does with the vocals is outstanding and really brings the entire track together.
Next up is the lovely Mass Digital (All Day I Dream, Hararbe Lab) who label boss Treavor Moontribe had been waiting a long time to send the perfect track for him to remix on the label! This remix turns up the energy, brings in some tribal percussion and a more driving groove, while still taking the vocals into a unique space. This lays somewhere between Organic and Afro House styles and the crowd response to this remix has been exceptional!
