Sarz, Major League DJz, Lojay 'Billions' on Deep Root Tribe

'Billions' is Sarz, Major League DJz and Lojay's first release on Deep Root Tribe. They were last seen on Crosstown Rebels in February, with 'Warrior Dance'. The Major League Djz Extended Remix, filed as Afro House, turns up now on Francis Mercier's Baianá (Boa Noite) chart, placed 17th of 20 as peak season carries Ibiza and Mykonos through their busiest weeks.

Tone sits ahead of rhythm here, the drum part left with plenty of air around it and the whole mix held back in level, room kept under the peaks and a top end that never overreaches. It is a patient reworking, closer to a groove than a peak time weapon, an approach that reads as deliberate rather than cautious.

Six of the 20 records on Mercier's own chart carry the Deep Root Tribe name. 'Billions' is one of them, and the label's first release credited to Sarz, Major League DJz and Lojay together.
