SCRIPT 'On The Low' on Afterlife Records

SCRIPT 'On The Low' in the Extended Mix is Afterlife's fifth record of the year in 2024; there have been six releases so far this year on the melodic house and techno label, which charges forward. A 2024 release is less about sound and more about melody. It is a chord-led, warm and velvety composition, a propulsive-yet-serene work out. A busy, detailed and rhythmic percussion pattern cuts underneath throughout the record, squeezed forward and beneath the peaks, while a softer, melodic lead sings on top with a lovely radiance. The drums and percussion drive the track at a level just beneath its melodic hook: the track entirely breathes from its center, its mid-range, as its top end is middling, its low-end full and pushing. 'On The Low' is a complete breath, a full, satisfying record from start to finish.
