Super Flu, Dancing on Lego 'Dear Friend' on Monaberry

Super Flu and Dancing on Lego call a slow-burn seducer from the Monaberry vaults to the main room. In the Extended Mix of 'Dear Friend', the percussion and harmony hold equal ground, each element carrying its weight in the mix. The track does not rely on dramatic builds or sudden drops but on the quiet persistence of a settled drum pattern and the slow-burn warmth of a bassline that hints at deeper currents, creating a sensation of an endless, luminous daybreak.
There is nothing hurried about 'Dear Friend'. Even at its most dynamic, the level remains even, with middling headroom, never pushing into overdrive but always sitting bright at the top. The play of light and shadow is subtle, and the production rewards attention to detail. It is a track that feels like a shared secret between the DJ and the dancefloor, a moment of collective introspection that lands somewhere between euphoria and melancholy.
The release, in its full Extended Mix, marks the first single from the partnership since 15 July 2022, when 'Gargamel' last landed on Monaberry, ending a 17-month wait. It has already found its way into the sets of tastemakers, charting with Miss Monique and Super Flu in mid-January 2024.

Monaberry, Bandcamp about text · sourceA few years ago there weren't very many Monaberry enthusiasts. Today that's ancient history. Today Monaberry is all over the country. Day in and day out. The idea of the perfect track has come. That's why we're now building a whole new line of Releases. The release up there in the picture is our new Super Flu x Dancing On Lego. It's inspired by our world famous releases, but the guys built it on a new narrow last, especially suited to the bone structure in most human's feet. It has the same great bass design that's made our other releases famous for traction. The same tough, lightweight, long-wearing nylon uppers. Same tapered heel and flared sole. One of a long line of powerful new ideas whose time has come at Monaberry. It's about time, right?
