Super Flu 'Lovesong' on Ritter Butzke Records
Ritter Butzke Records opens its note for 'Lovesong' by imagining the scene without Super Flu at all. The track, filed as Melodic House and Techno, came out on the label in April, and Oxia placed it 17th of 20 in his "Runway" chart on 12 June.
Super Flu's catalogue runs to 120 releases since May 2009, weighted heavily toward Monaberry, which accounts for 40 of them; the most recent before this was 'We You', in the Adam Ten Extended Remix, on REALM Records, in March. Percussion does more of the work than harmony here, with a percussion part that carries plenty in it. Levels stay kept down, free beneath the peaks, and it sits bright at the top, an open, driving read built around rhythm. 17th of 20 is a modest finish for a catalogue this deep, but with 120 releases behind it, one placement was never going to define the picture.
