Tayllor, AUGUSTE, Kasango 'Solitude' on Deep Root Tribe

'Solitude' is Deep Root Tribe's first release of 2023 on Beatport, part of a run that reached four for the label by the end of July. The Extended Mix, filed as Afro House, arrived on the label in April, and Francis Mercier placed it 10th of 15 in his Strangers chart on 4 July, a field where four of the 15 records already carry the Deep Root Tribe name, and Syon, QT-HIGH and AVÖ's "Only You", also on the label, sat second.
Deep Root Tribe's catalogue also includes Da Le (Havana)'s 'Oshosi Orisha'. The mix splits its weight evenly between drum and harmony, with a settled pattern running beneath. It sits loud, with a fair amount of movement beneath its peaks, and the top end runs moderately bright, an active, present read built for a room already moving. A finish of 10th of 15 is a modest result, but arriving as the label's first release of the year, this one carries more history than its chart position shows.
