The Chemical Brothers, Massano 'Do It Again' on UMC

Massano, credited alongside The Chemical Brothers on 'Do It Again', was on the bill at Amnesia Ibiza on 23 July for the Resistance Ibiza Opening Party, with Adam Beyer, Mau P and Artbat also on the lineup. His extended remix of the track lands on UMC days later, filed as Melodic House and Techno, one of only two Chemical Brothers releases since 27 May 2013; the other, 'Louie DeVito presents Pacha New York', came out on Ultra on 23 July that year.

The remix leans on the drums to carry it: a sparse percussive surface that never crowds the frame, a temperate level with the peaks kept well clear, and a brightness that sits at the top rather than low in the mix. Massano trades density for space, and it holds; there is a confidence in leaving a track this exposed and still keeping it moving. Yulia Niko placed it 10th of 17 in her Just Summer chart on 25 July, a fair finish for a record built to breathe rather than to shout.
