Naeiiv 'Falling Down' on Radikon
Naeiiv's 'Falling Down' is Radikon's first release of 2024, putting the label's tally for the year at one. It came out on 5 January.
Fideles placed it second of 10 in his own Dreamers chart, published 12 January, one of ten records he selected that day.
Radikon's own note on the release also names two further Naeiiv tracks, 'The Puzzle', a collaboration with Several Definitions, and 'Follow The Unknown'.
Chords carry more weight than drums here, the percussion kept sparse, and the mix sits at a moderate level with some space left before it tops out.
'Falling Down' plays as a melodic house and techno cut, out now on Radikon.

The south german savant invites us to 'The Puzzle', a collaboration with 'Several Definitions'. Both combine their production veteranism to create a riddled and complex manufacturing build around wide open melody arcs with a loose and simultaneously precise detuned edge, seasoned with stuttering synth shots over a hammering kick pattern.
The introduction of 'Follow The Unknown' alone features more harmonic complexity than the majority of contemporary electronic music releases. This short but impressive melancholic uprising gets a twisty cut off to reveal the true nature of its artistic intent, which is nothing less than the revelation of a wild dance floor beast.
'Falling Down' contrasts rhythmic simplicity born out of a carefully curated drum design with a borderline freaked out synthesizer orgy. Both elements are carefully placed over the intense arrangement in between warm safe havens of peace and quiet.
