Simon Vuarambon 'Diafana' on Moments

A life of musical dedication is a life of adaptation and exploration, and Simon Vuarambon has poured his own into the trail of singles that stand behind him. Since his last effort on this label, a gap of about 14 months has passed, making 'Diafana' his first new release here since 'Prodiga / Sila / Quiral' from late September 2024. It arrives on Moments, the second release of 2025 for that label.
Vuarambon has a way of composing records that feel like a statement of intent. There is as much harmony in them as there is percussion, and the balance of the two leads to a moving listen. On 'Diafana', the artist processes a plain and regular hit pattern, held at a forward level with almost no room under the peaks. The top end is temperate, and the result of the whole sits at a pleasing, steady pulse that carries the piece along.
The track has been received warmly already. Amonita placed it ninth of 12 in their Insomnia Chart, dated 20 November, and it goes some way to placing Vuarambon's name alongside the many who now work in the Tulum scene, where this release arrives before the season begins. No doubt its deep pull and musicality will find a place in the sets of those who play the sunrise hours in the jungle.
