Spencer Brown 'Fellas' on diviine

'Fellas' is diviine's third release of 2024 on Beatport, one of three the label has put out this year so far. Spencer Brown's Progressive House record was released 15 March, arriving in the closing weeks of the Tulum season.

Neither the drums nor the harmony fully takes the lead: steady work from the drums sits under a mix that stays modest in level, with the peaks a long way clear and little light up top. It is an unhurried, evenly weighted piece of production, comfortable holding back rather than pushing toward a peak.

Enamour placed 'Fellas' ninth of 10 on his RUNE chart on 29 March. Spencer Brown was last covered on 15 September with '20ms', also on diviine, and this is his first release on the label since 'Equanimity (Remixes) pt.3' on 9 February, a gap of 35 days.
