TH;EN, Mia Mendi 'Collapsing Sky' on Odd One Out

'Collapsing Sky', the Extended Mix from TH;EN and Mia Mendi, is Odd One Out's fifth release of 2024 on Beatport, of six the label has put out this year to 14 April. Filed as Melodic House & Techno, it went out on 14 March and was placed seventh of 12 in YOTTO's 'Forget' chart on 4 April.

The record is TH;EN and Mia Mendi's first release on Odd One Out since 'Magic Light - Extended Mixes' on 27 July 2023, a gap of about eight months. 'Collapsing Sky' leads with tone over rhythm: the drums are kept quiet, with not much happening across them, while the track stays forward in level with middling headroom. The top end runs moderately bright, and letting tone carry the track rather than the beat gives it a wide, spacious character that rewards the patience behind the wait.
